43rd Annual International Nursing and Midwifery Research and Education Conference
The Chair of Axia Digital (Ireland), Chris Peat, will once again be attending the RCSI‘s Annual International Nursing and Midwifery Research and Education conference and dinner. The event takes place on the 21st and 22nd of February with the theme of Changing Landscapes of Health.
Chris commented:
“We are grateful again for this opportunity to attend this important event for nurses and midwives in Ireland and beyond. We are primarily here to support Dr Louise Kavanagh McBride, Head of the Nursing Department at ATU (Donegal) and current President of the Irish Nursing and Midwifery Board, who is delivering two workshops on the impact of successfully introducing the MyCad.ie. This is the only digital version of the National Competency Assessment Document that is currently available.”
Additional information about the event is available on RCSI’s conference page.
MyCad Event Stand
Axia will be hosting a stand at the event where delegates will have the opportunity to speak to Chris directly about MyCad. Chris will discuss recent developments to the site and showcasing its usage, highlighting that over half of users access MyCad through mobile phones.
The site is accessible from any device with a browser and features an intuitively designed interface that automatically resizes to fit the display of the device. This removes the need for a downloadable mobile app, as the site works both on and offline.
Introduction of New Reporting Feature
Chris will also be introducing a new reporting feature to Community Placement Co-Ordinator’s, Allocation and Placement teams, and Tutors. This report enables CPCs and Tutors to quickly and easily see the progress made by students. The report is generated in real time and shows the number of placement hours attended, as well as which assessment tasks have been completed.
The data within the report is a compilation of the checklists of students from a selected cohort. It shows the amount of placement hours attended and which assessment tasks have been completed, making it easy to see which NCAD sections still need to be completed.
Parts of the report highlighted in green indicate that the student has attended the required number of hours for that placement, completed all sections, and achieved all of the necessary competencies. Those highlighted in red indicate that there are issues with the student’s portfolio. There is no indicator for ‘Progress notes’ as there is no requirement for those to be completed.
Users can access the student’s portfolio directly from the report by selecting the student’s name.
